5 Weight Loss Motivation
- Check in with an accountability partner: Text each other to share that you’re staying on track and eating healthy foods. Help each other consistently eat better and achieve steady weight loss progress.
- Set smaller, achievable targets. Losing only 5% to 10% of your total body weight can greatly improve your health and lower your risk for illnesses, such as type 2 diabetes, stroke, cardiovascular disease and certain types of cancer.
- Delving into your relationship with food and eating choices can provide knowledge. Notice your hunger level and what you chose to eat and why, when and how. Eating meals at a table placesetting is always the goal - avoid snacking on the go -- mindless eating is mindless calories.
- Keep a food and weight diary. Self-monitoring is a helpful factor in successfully losing weight. Those who track their success in small increments and identify physical changes are much more likely to stick to their weight loss regiment.
- Weight loss is a gradual process, and you may feel discouraged if the pounds do not drop off at quite the rate you wish. The important thing is to keep a positive outlook and be persistent in developing new habits to successful weight loss.
