The active ingredient of Wegovy is semaglutide, which reduces appetite by mimicking the action of a natural hormone called “glucagon-like peptide-1” or GLP-1, an appetite hormone made primarily in your digestive tract that targets areas of the brain to regulate appetite after eating.
